About GVR Coatings

GVR Coatings is an independent and privately owned company based in Pinetown, South Africa. The company was founded by Gary and Vernon Raath in 1998 and was primarily a metalizing company coating the likes of curtain rails, accessories, door handles and shoe trimmings. In 2000 GVR Coatings began manufacturing a range of coffin and casket handles. Immediate success was achieved in this market due to the high quality of our products, coupled with good pricing and excellent service delivery. GVR Coatings has grown into a leading supplier of coffin and casket handles to coffin manufacturers throughout South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi.

In 2005, Vernon Raath retired from GVR Coatings and Gary Raath became and remains the sole member of GVR Coatings. In 2015 GVR Coatings began manufacturing furniture and cabinet fittings and aims to be the leading supplier to wholesalers in Southern Africa by 2020. Ongoing expansion to our product range is the result of listening to the needs of our clients.
